New Zealand: the Land of Hobbits and Redheads

Red-haired Native of New Zealand

Were Redheads the original inhabitants of New Zealand?

Perhaps the location of New Zealand was not coincidental for the filming of the Tolkien stories of the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings.

According to the documentary “New Zealand: Skeletons in the Cupboard” by Peter and Gabi Plumm, redheads were living in New Zealand before the native Maori. They present footage of what looks like hobbit homes for the little redhead people that lived there at one time. Stories of giant skeletons with red hair being found as well are quite astounding.

The lives of the Polynesians, known as Maori, that arrived a few thousand years ago were changed dramatically once they settled in New Zealand. The styles of their homes changed, they built amphitheaters, began using fishing nets and switched from outrigger canoes to bronze age European-style boats.

In Maori oral history there is record of people with red hair living on the island before their arrival. However, local archaeologists disregarded this history by ‘burying’ the evidence of these redheads that had been living there probably over 5000 years ago. When a native came forward sporting red hair and telling of a redheaded people coming from India, traveling to Central America and then to New Zealand, some began to question the official position. Peter and Gabi set out to explore this lost history of redheads in New Zealand and recount their fascinating findings in their documentary.

It appears New Zealand is truly a magical land of hobbits, elves and giants. Please watch the documentary that has been viewed by over half a million here:

Feisty Redhead American Heroine Takes Names and Kicks Ass During the Revolutionary War

Nancy HartDuring the American Revolution, Loyalists to the King of England were going around executing non-Loyalists. These traitors were having their way until they came across a red-haired lass with a feisty reputation for swearing. Nancy Morgan Hart was a 6-foot- tall, cross-eyed sharpshooter the natives called “war woman”. The Loyalists visited her one evening while her husband was away doing farmwork on the back 40. When she objected to feeding the angry hungry mobsters, they shot her turkey. Then they bragged about killing her neighbor. That was the last straw. Nancy secretly armed herself with the help of her daughter. Realizing what she was up to, the mob charged at her and she opened fire. When the smoke cleared, one man lay dead and another wounded. Her husband, Benjamin, arrived right then with some other men. They insisted the Loyalists be shot for their actions, but Nancy objected, stating that shooting was too good for them, that they ought to be hung. So they were. Her actions made her famous throughout the land.

Redheads are Different

The internet is full of how redheads are different. They feel pain less or more depending on whether the pain comes from temperature or electric shock. It takes more anesthesia to put a redhead out and they react stronger to pain medication. Redheads react positively or negatively to some medications. All of this information can be confusing to say the least. To sum it up, and from the perspective of this redhead, is that we simply react differently to everything, medications, pain, environment and emotions. To everyone out there, I shout out loud — redheads are different from everyone else!

What Redheads are Really Like

Forget all those lists describing the characteristics of redheads for the moment. What they don’t talk about in the grand scheme of things is what those characteristics really translate to. Deep down it comes down to this- we are uncomfortable in our skin and we need to run wild. Look at those berserkers who ran naked into battle- think redhead.

Eric the Red, the fierce red-haired Viking who discovered Greenland about AD 982. NB: Scan of small illustration.

On the move with the Vikings as they scoured all over Europe and even North America. Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder was about redheads except its not a disorder its just we don’t want to sit still and be brainwashed like the rest of ’em. Look at Tom Sawyer, a redhead who has an awesome exploration of the Mississippi looking at all the crazy lives of Americans. You might say that he was fictional but it was probably a story about the life of the author himself- Samuel Clemens aka Mark Twain- yes a redhead.

Sex, drugs and rock-n-roll was about a typical red-haired life. Hey which rocker is still kicking and partying and looks good- only the red rocker Sammy Hagar. Sammy-Hagar-ASTRODOME-June-19-1983-by-Mark-Bowman-ImagesLets not forget the Outlaw Jesse James- yes he was redhead. He fought against the man for his neighbors because why- its just a red-haired thing to do. We can’t help but seek out the passion in life which leads to sex. Just look at the evidence- there are redheads all over the world. What I have noticed is that somehow I bring out the wild side of people when they around me. It’s not my fault if got into trouble. I wonder if Loki was a redhead?

Gingerism

Sometimes I wonder when I see women who dye their hair red. It’s like who would really sign up for such abuse. Having natural red hair is not something to be bought because redheads have gone through a lot to earn their red hair. The feisty nature of a red comes through by years of teasing and bullying. Plus, the hot sexy nature of red-haired women will be missing from the box.  Why do you think Marilyn Monroe was so sexy? She was a redhead who dyed her hair blonde.

As a redhead guy, I could go on for hours about how I have been treated badly by society in general. Sure I might complain about how terrible things happened to me and I would not stop any other redhead from going on a rant so please do if you feel the need- I’m listening.

For myself, I would not trade in any of those assaults, jabs, insults, and abuse because it has made me who I am today. It takes a lot to survive in today’s world and I would be disadvantaged if I had not gone through all that. Plus I have come to realize that those non-redheads are just jealous anyways!

The Yellow Emperor had Golden Hair

The Yellow Emperor (Huangdi) of China is the father of Chinese Medicine. Huangdi, who lived 5000 years ago, was supposedly named for the yellow soil of the plains, loess. However, others argue that he was in fact named for the golden color of his hair, meaning he was caucasian. This discovery made by the Chinese is the reason I created this website. It’s profound for myself and I will try to link the connection to red hair. This might provide a historical and cultural connection to those learning and practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), who often feel a separation for not being Chinese, being unable to fully engage in the ancient spiritual Daoism from which TCM is based.

This is not taking anything from the Chinese as I thank God everyday for meeting the Chinese Master, hiding out as a janitor at a college of TCM, who healed me with qigong and tuina, then graciously taught me this ancient art, Emei Li Ji Qigong. (Read more here on page 3 “How Tuina-Chinese Therapeutic Massage Saved My Life”) This article is more about discovery of a connection to my ancient red-haired ancestry of possible Tuatha de Danann, Druids and the Shining Ones, which has been obliterated by history.

This post will be a work in the making with many future edits and additions. So here to begin is a possible summary.

I experienced what I believe to be a genetic unlocking of ancient knowledge of the redhaired race. I was taught an ancient art of healing known as tuina. It is deeply steeped in the Daoist Arts. Something inside me said there was an ancient connection to what I did not know. Then I read about the race of Shining Ones imparting their knowledge to the Chinese. Later I read about the redhaired mummies they found in the Tarim Basin in China dated some 4000 BC, possibly connected to the Tuatha de Danann. The Tuatha were known for their fiery red hair. How they were in Ancient China is a mystery. Then to find that the Yellow Emperor had golden hair, blonde or possibly red made this deep connection that opened a complex lock of my ancient heritage.

For a  better understanding of tuina, please check out my website on my practice at: https://spiraldragons.com/

Interesting, there is claim that the Holy Grail is in Ireland, a cup with two spiral dragons.

Life as a Red-haired Stepchild.

Growing up as the red-haired stepchild, literally, was tough. My own mom didn’t even like me. Neither of my parents had red hair. Getting called carrot top was the norm and it sucked. I would get blamed for everything and I was treated as a bad child even though I was a good. Other parents, teachers, priests, I guess people of authority looked down on me. I remember getting kicked out of class anytime someone talked to me. I spent most of the year in my desk in the hall looking in through the door. I became good friends with the principal.

The allergies started when I was 13 and they only worsened until I discovered that they were caused by milk and wheat. Acupuncture was the best treatment of all. In addition, I have a sensitive digestive system, its called irritable bowel syndrome now. They did not have a label for attention deficit disorder back when I was growing up. Good thing as I would not want to be put on any mental medication. Who knows what that would have done? I would spend the whole day mesmerized on the first day of snow. Every time I went to the dentist, I would really get high on the laughing gas although the drilling was still painful. I talk to people who never feel any pain at the dentist. Must be nice.

The negative attention stopped when I let my hair grow out. Everyone thinks I look like Sammy Hagar. He can’t look that bad. Maybe all redheads are related. Strangely, I find red haired women attractive, but have never wanted to date one. I wonder if its genetic. I love the exotic type.

I began to notice that other people liked to tell me their problems. I was watching a Dr Who episode where the Amazon lady states, “When you get a cut, look for the man with the most scars.” I guess that relates to me. Being a redhead makes you somewhat jaded and tough. I have the most wry sense of humor and its helped me stay mentally afloat. In my ’30’s I began to have shamanic experiences and have since been on a spiritual journey in that direction. Must have been the laughing gas. Yes I do feel like I am from another planet because I just can’t get over all this need for the material satisfaction. Personally I love to be in the mountains surrounded by large pine trees in the whispering winds with a spring of bubbling water nearby or by ocean watching the endless waves as the setting sun simmers and shimmers.

People with red hair have many different traits than the general population. I wanted to list my traits and see how they compare to other redheads. Here goes:

  • High sex energy
  • Attuned senses

Redheads are from the Red Planet Mars

mars

Redheads may get their fiery persona from Mars.

Astrologers claim there is a connection between the red planet, Mars and the fiery nature of people with red hair. Redheads are notorious for their well-known hot-tempered, high strung and sensitive natures. In astrology, if the planet Mars is in your charts, it has the affect of placing fiery, competitive and  almost explosive tendencies into your behavior. Research astrologers Judith Hill and Jacalyn Thompson made a discovery in their study of 500 redheads that makes a connection to Mars and redheads. In Mars and Redheads (1988), almost 30% of the redheads had the ascending Mars in their astrology birth charts.
